Landfill Dodging Props Found New Home with Theatre
We’re thrilled to announce that a recent selection of props have found a new home! Instead of ending up in a landfill, these hand puppets have been given a second chance at life. They’ve been rehomed at the Little Angel Theatre, where they’ll continue to bring joy and entertainment to audiences.
By diverting these props from the landfill, we’ve also achieved some carbon savings. In this case, the saving was around 4kg CO2e.
The Little Angel Theatre is a wonderful recipient for this donation. They’re dedicated to creating and sharing puppetry performances that inspire and delight audiences of all ages. These puppets will be in good hands and will be put to brilliant use in their productions.
At our organisation, we’re always on the lookout for more items to give a second life. We believe that every little bit helps when it comes to reducing waste and making a positive impact on the environment.
But why is it so important to divert items from landfills? Landfills are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change. When organic waste decomposes in landfill, it releases methane, a potent greenhouse gas that is 28 times more effective at trapping heat in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide.
By diverting items from landfills, we’re not only reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but we’re also conserving resources. Many items that end up in landfills could be reused or recycled, which would save energy and reduce the need for new resources.
To sum up, we’re delighted that these hand puppets have found a new home at the Little Angel Theatre. We’ll continue to work towards reducing waste and making a positive impact on the environment. If you have any items that you’d like to donate, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
